Bella’s Bridal and Formal currently accepts appointments for Bridal Gowns, Bridesmaid Gowns, Pageant Gowns and Alterations Appointments. Bridal appointments are required. We try to accommodate walk-in appointments, but we highly recommend that you request an appointment in advance to eliminate wait time, especially on weekends. At this time we do not accept appointments for Prom Dresses. Information about alterations can be found here.

Our new store in Riverchase Village includes 6 Bridal Suites, 4 Bridesmaid Dressing Rooms, 14 Prom and Pageant Dressing Rooms and 3 Alterations Dressing Rooms.

Bridal Appointment Information

Our Bridal department has 6 bridal suites that are available by reservation. We are a large store with over 750 bridal gowns to choose from. Weekends tend to be very busy, especially during the months of January through June. Each bridal appointment consists of a 90-minute one-on-one session with an expert bridal consultant. We ask that you and your guests arrive on time so that you are able to use your full 90 minutes.

We have VIP appointments available after hours. Call us for VIP pricing and availability. VIP bridesmaids appointments are also a great way to have a room all to yourselves and beverages and snacks are provided for each VIP appointment.

WHAT SIZE GOWNS DOES BELLA’S CARRY?

Bella’s Bridal carries a huge selection of weddings gowns in all sizes and styles. Most of our gowns are between size 8 and size 16. We have the largest selection of plus size wedding gowns in the area, ranging from sizes 18-28. If the gown you try on is too small or too big, we can clip the gown to give you a general idea of what the gown will look like in your size.

We make every effort to accommodate appointment requests. During the months of January through Jun, we are extremely busy and appointments fill very quickly, especially on the weekends.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

You do not have to bring any special undergarments with you unless you want to. Our bridal gowns are very high quality, and most have built-in bras and slips. Please wear proper/clean undergarments. Within your bridal suite, you will have a private changing area but keep in mind some gowns may not close all the way in the back.

SHOULD I BRING MAGAZINE OR INTERNET PICTURES OF GOWNS I LIKE?

Absolutely, scanning magazine photos and the Internet is part of the fun of wedding gown shopping, but be sure to keep an open mind. Many women see themselves in a pictured gown they thought they loved only to say, “Hmm…I thought it would be more exciting.”  Then when they try on a gown style they had not considered previously they love how good it makes them feel. Also, keep in mind that some of the best designers don’t advertise in magazines or on the internet, so don’t limit yourself only to pictures you found. Your perfect gown might be one you’ve never seen before!

WHO SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

We encourage you to bring family and friends with you to help you decide on the perfect dress. When shopping for a wedding gown, an entourage consisting of two or three trusted individuals seems to be the perfect mix. Our bridal suites are designed for your comfort and privacy. It’s best to keep your numbers low: it’s great to have one or two people who are close to you to give you honest opinions but bringing too many people to “give their opinion” can turn out to be a recipe for disaster that may cause you to miss out on your perfect gown. In the end, the only opinion that truly matters is yours.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE AT BELLA’S?

Upon arrival at Bella’s please register at our front desk. You will then be assigned a personal bridal consultant that will escort you and your guests to your private bridal suite for your 90-minute appointment.

You and your bridal consultant will begin the appointment by discussing what style dresses you are interested in. If you have a Pinterest Board of wedding dress styles you would like to share with your consultant, go ahead and have it loaded up on your phone.

Together, you and your bridal consultant will select your first 5-6 gowns to try on. Your consultant will only work with you during your entire appointment. Our bridal consultants have years of experience and are experts about our designers, styles, and fits. She will be there to help you select gowns and accessories and to help you get in and out of the gowns.

Once you find your perfect wedding gown, your bridal consultant will help you select a veil, jewelry, headpiece and other accessories to complete the perfect look for your wedding. If you find a dress that is perfect but maybe needs something extra, our amazing alterations department can add sleeves, change necklines and add accessories to any gown.

HOW DO I BUY MY DRESS?

We can sell dresses off the rack, but in most cases, we order your dress in your size directly from the designer. We require a 50% deposit to order your wedding dress and the final 50% must be paid in full prior to picking up the dress. We have some layaway options, please ask your consultant for details. Once your dress has been ordered you will receive an email within 7 business days with an estimated ship date from the designer. When your dress arrives from the designer we will call you to set an appointment to pick up the dress. At that time, you will be able to verify the size and inspect the dress.

Bridesmaid Appointment Information

Bella’s Bridal and Formal has a separate Bridesmaid dress department with its own set of dressing rooms. We carry several lines of Bridesmaid Dresses that can be mixed and matched in color or style to achieve the perfect look and fit for your Bridesmaids. Brides typically bring 1 or 2 bridesmaids with them to shop for bridesmaid dresses. Our Bridesmaid Consultants only work in the Bridesmaid Department and are specialists on our brands, styles, colors, fabrics, and fits.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE AT BELLA’S?

When you arrive for your appointment please check in at the front desk. You and your guests will be paired with a Bridesmaid consultant and set up with a dressing room(s) in the Bridesmaid Department. In most cases, your Bridesmaid consultant will only be working with your party during your appointment.

WHAT ABOUT SIZING AND FITTING ALL OF MY BRIDESMAIDS?

We always prefer that your Bridesmaids come to our store to be professionally measured for their dress. For out of state bridesmaids, we recommend they visit a local bridal shop to be professionally measured. Preferably a store that carries the same brand of dresses.

WHEN SHOULD WE ORDER BRIDESMAID DRESSES?

Bridesmaid dresses are special ordered by size and color so we do not sell them off the rack. It can take 4-5 months for Bridesmaid Dresses to arrive so we recommend you order early to allow time for alterations. We do carry some bridesmaid designer lines that will rush order dresses for an additional fee. Please contact us directly for more information. All bridesmaid dresses must be paid for in full prior to ordering so that the dresses are ordered at the same time and are cut from the same dye lot for color consistency.

Pageant Gown Appointment Information

We dress winners! Bella’s loves our pageant girls and we have everything you need to take home the crown. Whether it is your first pageant or you are an experienced competitor, Bella’s has everything you need. Our expert pageant consultants have worked with the last 2 Miss Alabama winners, and 4 out of 5 of the runners-up both years. 

WHAT PAGEANT DESIGNERS DOES BELLA’S CARRY?

We have an amazing selection of pageant gowns including exclusive designers like Juan Carlos Pinera and Fernando Wong. Our gowns are so exclusive we serve pageant contestants all the way to the West Coast. We sell pageant gowns off the rack and order custom gowns to achieve your perfect look.

DOES BELLA’S CARRY ACCESSORIES AND OTHER PAGEANT CLOTHING?

Bella’s carries shoes and jewelry to complete the perfect pageant look. We also have pageant swimwear and interview outfits. We are familiar with pageant rules and guidelines to get your wardrobe approved.

Your consultant will help you select gowns from our private pageant gown selection. We have an extensive selection of pageant ready gowns and exclusive relationships with top designers that can create a custom gown specifically for you. Gowns are registered so another contestant will not be wearing the same dress. Our consultants will help you pair shoes and accessories to complete your look.
